Abstract

Syaifudin Imam Yoga, 2024. The Students’ Perceptions On The Use Of Ted Talks In Speaking Class For The Second Semester Of English Departement Of UIN Salatiga In Academic Year 2023/2024 Skripsi, English Departement of Education Study Program, Faculty of Education, UIN Salatiga. Counselor : Dr. Hanung Triyoko, S.S.,M,Hum., The purpose of this study is to determine wheter consuming TED-Talk media on technology, entertaiment, and design has a substantional impact on students’ public speaking abilities. The pre-experimental research method is applied in this study. Student in the English Departement of Education durung the academic year 2024. There were twenty pupils in the sample. The pre-test, treatment, post-test, and questionnaire were administered by the researcher in order to gather data,SPSS 24 was used to examine the research’s data. The researcher comes to the conclusion that students’ speaking abilities are significantly impacted by using TED-Talk media. It is corroborated by the pre- and post- test mean score values. Pre-test mean score was 42,60; post-test mean score was 79,00. This study’s significance value is 0.000, which is less than 0.05. it demonstrates that the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This indicates that using TED-Talk has a big impact on students’ public speaking abilities. Keywords : Speaking, Ted-Talk, The Influence.
