Abstract

ABSTRACT Khoirodin, Mohamad. 2023. Students’ Perceptions On The Use Of BBC Learning English For Learning Vocabulary: A Study At SMA Muhammadiyah (Plus) Salatiga In The Academic Year 2022/2023. A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University of Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Setia Rini, M.Pd. The purpose of this research is to find out the perception of students on the use of BBC Learning English for learning vocabulary and to find out the cognitive aspects viewed by students such as what they get when using BBC Learning English based on students’ perception at SMA Muhammdiyah Salatiga. In this study, the researcher applied survey research categorized as a descriptive quantitative method. The Population of this research is students from SMA Muhammadiyah Salatiga and the sample of respondents is 25 students from X.1. After presented and analyzed the closed-ended and open-ended questionnaire. First, it can be found that students from SMA Muhammadiyah Salatiga 88% have a positive perception on the use of BBC Learning English for learning vocabulary. Second, based on the students’ perception of using BBC Learning English in openended questionnaire, 40% of students SMA Muhammadiyah Salatiga felt that the BBC Learning English platform is easy to use also easier to understand by students, 48% of students SMA Muhammadiyah felt that videos from BBC Learning English is interesting and can improve their knowledge especially vocabulary.
