Abstract
ABSTRACT Magviroh, Hanik Saida. 2019. The Implementation of Gallery Walk Strategy to Improve the Students’ Speaking Ability (A Classroom Action Research at the tenth grade of MAN Salatiga in academic years 2018/2019). A Graduating paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor : Hammam, S. Pd., M. Pd., Ph. D . The objectives of this research were (1) to find out the implementation of students’ speaking ability after using gallery walk, (2) to find out the significance improvement of using gallery walk of the tenth grade students’ of MAN Salatiga in the academic year 2018/2019. The metodhology of the research was Action Research especially Classroom Action Research (CAR). There were two cycles; each cycle consist of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research was X.IPS.5 class, which consist of 33 students. The technique of collecting data was the observation, test, and documentation. The result showed that there was a significant improvement on students’ speaking skill after using Gallery Walk strategy. The T-calculation result shows that T-calculation of cycle I is 6.86, and cycle II is 7.51. the improvement of cycle I is 60.60% and in cycle II is 87.87%. From the result, the researcher concluded that implementation of Gallery Walk as a strategy was successfull to improve the students’ speaking skill in descriptive text.
