Abstract
The objective of the study is to describe reading aloud strategy to improve students’ fluency and pronunciation accuracy in reading skill at the second-grade students of MTs NU Aswaja Tengaran and to find out how far the improvement of students’ fluency and pronunciation accuracy in reading skills after being taught by using the reading aloud strategy. The methodology of the research used classroom action research (CAR). It is conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. From the result, researcher found several finding on it. After implementation of the reading aloud strategy could implementation to improve students’ fluency and pronunciation accuracy in reading skill. It can be seen the students could read the texts easily and loudly. The reading aloud strategy is influential to improve students’ fluency and pronunciation accuracy in reading skills of eighth grade students of MTs Aswaja Tengaran in the academic year of 2017/2018. It can be seen from the progress of the result of research. In cycle I, the mean of post - test higher than pre-test: 58.95>50.53, in cycle II: 75.79>63.16. The t-calculation results also shows that t-calculation of cycle I is 10.94 higher than t-table 2.100 and cycle II is 11.42. In cycle II from 19 students just 3 students do not pass the standardized score. It means that the reading aloud can influential to improve students’ fluency and pronunciation accuracy in reading skill.
