Abstract

Typology of Independence Character Education in the Salaf Islamic Boarding School and Modern Islamic Boarding School. Thesis of Islamic Religious Education Study Program. Graduate program. Salatiga State Islamic Institute. Counselor: Dr. Miftahuddin, M.Ag. This research aims to determine the typology of independence character education in the Salaf Islamic boarding school and Modern Islamic boarding school. The type of this research is field research with a qualitative research approach. The data collection techniques of this research used observation, documentation, and interview techniques. The results of this research. First, typology of the Salaf Islamic Boarding School is model of the imam, previous muslim priests , studying the Qur'an, Hadith, Ijmaq, Qiyas and Jama'ah, respect to the elders generation and apreciate to the younger generation, while Education typology of character independence in Modern Islamic Boarding Schools more integrated with learning such as: strong aqeedah, morality, adequate knowledge, growing leadership traits, can overcome problems in the midst of globalization. Second, supporting factors typology of Salaf Islamic Boarding Schools include: 1) imam or teacher, 2) teaching and learning activities include: daily, weekly, monthly and yearly, 3) students, 4) boarding school environment, 5) cooperation with the community. Supporting factors independence of Modern Islamic Boarding School include: 1) imam or teacher, 2) teaching and learning activities include daily, weekly, monthly, and annual, 3) students, 4) parents, 5) boarding school environment. and then, the inhibiting factors of the typology of the Independence character education of the Salaf Islamic Boarding School include: 1) the difference of students' background 2) facilities and infrastructure. and inhibiting factors Typology of independent character education Modern Islamic Boarding Schools include: 1) The laziness of student's Islamic Boarding School , 2) facilities and infrastructure.
