Abstract

This study concerns with an Analysis Figurative Language Found figurative languages found in drama entitled “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett. The objective of the study is to find outthe types of figurative language used in drama entitled “Waiting for Godot and the dominant figurative languages found in drama entitled “Waiting for Godot” and the reason. The researcher uses a descriptive qualitative method to classifyand analyze the sentences. After investigating the sentence in the Drama script, the writer found several findings of figurative language on it. There are seven kinds offigurative languages that is used in the drama script, they are alliteration, hyperbole, metaphor, personification, simile, symbols and paradox. The dominant of figurative languages that used is metaphor because Waiting for Godot is absurd drama. It usually uses metaphor in expressing of statements or utterances in the dialog. It describes a person orobject by referring to something that considered to have similar characteristics to that person or object.
