Abstract
The purpose of this thesis, practically for the academic to give explanationabout the contribution of teaching vocabulary by using songs, for the students arehoped to be more interested in English, for teacher can choose strategy in teachingvocabulary. Theoretically, the writer expect that this study will give additionalcontribution to the writer.The population in this research uses total population research. Thisresearch is uses a single variable design. The population or the students will bedevided into two group, experimental and control groups. In this research, thewriter uses test and interviews as the methode of collecting data.TI1e result of analysis, for the pre-test there is no differences of students'vocabulary mastery between experiment group and control group, because thescore oft-test of those groups is lower than the score oft-table. Then, the score of post-test from the experiment group is higher than the score of the post-test fromthe control group. Based on the explanation above, the writer concludes that theuse of songs in teaching vocabulary to the vocabulary mastery is better.
