Abstract
Those are the mainpoints of this research. To gels the data for writing down this thesis 'he writerapplied several methods and can be divided into for three types, they are:document study, field research, and statistical methods. Based on applied severalmethods above the researcher discovered the result that: (1) The profile of thethird year students' of MI Ma 'arif Tingkir Lor, Salatiga at first was still lack ofvocabularies. They think that Er.glish is an uninteresting lesson. It happensbecause the teacher conducts the lesson monotonously. This situation makes thestudents easily get bored. Since the lesson is boring, it affects the students'achievement. That is why the students experience lack of vocabularies. However,the situation changes after the researcher does the treatment. The students find thatlearning English is fun. They don't feel bored anymore. Since they enjoy thelesson, their achievement improves, too. They don't experience lack ofvocabularies anymore. However, the teacher's creativity in teaching is badlyneeded to keep the teaching learning process fun and enjoyable.(2) There is significant improvement of students' vocabulary mastery after havingtreatment using puzzle game. It is known based on the result of the calculation ofthis research that is from the data at table 4.2, the result of coefficient corelationbetween variable x and y (Rxy count) is 0, 1920. The result of comparison withthe value of coefficient correlation is at table (Rt) with N = 15 at level significant5%. Jn addition, there is significant difference between the pre test using puzzlgame because the result of product moment shows that product momentcalculation is lower than rxy table. (3) Based on the result of the observation ofthis research, it is known that puzzle game significantly improves the students'vocabulary mastery. It is clearly showed by the increasing of the rxy count. Therxy count of the pre - test is 0,0040 while the rxy count of the post - test is0, 1920. The improvements are limited on the vocabulary that is used in thirdgrade elementary school.
