Abstract
This research analyzed the improvement of students' speaking skill through"Snowball Throwing" method. The objectives of the research are to describe theimplementation of Snowball Throwing method to improve students' speakingskill of the tenth years students of MAN Salatiga and to find out result of speakingscore by using Snowball Throwing method in speaking class. The methodology ofresearch is classroom action research. To find out the improvement of students'speaking skill the researcher used pre test and post test to know the extent of thestudents mastery in the speaking oral test to know the score of speaking skill. Thesubjects of this research were the students of the tenth years of MAN Salatiga inthe academic year of 2013/2014 which consisted of 32 students. The research wasstarted on May 16", 2014 until May 22", 2014. She used two cycles; in each cyclecomprised of one meeting and each meeting consist of planning, action,observation, and reflection. The researcher showed that the students involvedactively in teaching learning process, they are more encourages and confident tospeak English than before, there are strength and weakness of using SnowballThrowing method. The results show that the students' speaking skill improvessignificantly. The T-calculation results shows that the T-calculation of cycle I is 4,0 I and cycle II is 4, 47. This indicated that by applying Snowball Throwingmethod the students' speaking skill can be improved.
